Welcome to Compliments Of The Chef, I’m so glad you’re here. Grab a glass of wine, or a strong cocktail, and get comfortable. Tonight is really more of an introduction, a get-to-know-you, an apéritifs.
Who am I? I’m Evie, author of evie en rose and a serious garlic advocate. I like to cook and I like to host and I like to write, and while though I don’t claim to be talented at any one of those, I sure do love them. I’ve written about my love for dinner parties, and it only feels fair to dedicate an entire newsletter to the people around the table.
Who will I be interviewing? People in my life who I think are brilliant. Either in who they are, what they do, or the perspective they have. I’m such a nosy person and have always been fascinated by the way people live their lives, down to the most minute detail. I want to get at the heart of a person, not just who they present to the world.
What can you expect? At the end of each month, I’ll publish the appetizer, entrée, and drink recipes, alongside my conversation with my guest of the month. I’ll do my best to make sure you feel like you’re sitting right next to us, drinking a gin and tonic.
My hope is that you, dear reader, will get to enjoy some of the brilliant conversations I find myself having with people in my world. I’m endlessly fascinated by the wisdom people have about life, love, and finding your way in the world. What better way to feel connected then to eat good food together?
This month’s guest is Kathia Dang, one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet, an incredible building designer, and owner of the strongest pour. One drink from her and I am drunk off my ass. She has the best closet I’ve ever seen and is known for giving away her clothes to anyone she thinks will look cute in them. A fashion icon for the people, if you will. That newsletter will be coming out at the end of May! I’ll see you then.
